Young people across York preparing to receive their A level and Key Stage 4 results this summer are being reminded that a wide range of support, advice and opportunities are available to help them take their next steps with confidence.
Results day can be an exciting milestone, but it can also bring uncertainty. City of York Council is highlighting the many options available to school and college leavers, including sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships, T Levels, vocational qualifications, higher education and supported learning programmes.
York offers a broad range of post-16 opportunities. Students considering academic study can choose from A Levels at local sixth forms and colleges, while those looking for more practical or career-focused routes can explore technical qualifications, T Levels and apprenticeships that combine learning with workplace experience.
For students who are unsure about their next move, City of York Council has published information and guidance on local options, including its Post-16 Pathways Guide, details of local providers and advice on careers, training and further education. The council is encouraging young people to speak to teachers, careers advisers and admissions teams to discuss the opportunities available to them.
